Join us at Camp Ignite this Summer!
At Camp Ignite, youth aged grade 12 and freshly graduated students have the opportunity to explore a number of activities and experiences that challenge campers to try new things, learn new skills, and build confidence.
Our mission is to ensure that every camper feels safe, supported, and empowered to take on new challenges.
3 nights of this camp will be held at SFU Campus and the days will be hosted by local fire departments at their training facilities.

Camp Ignite Mentor and Instructor Application
Interested in being a mentor throughout Camp Ignite? Chaperoning overnight? Or Instructing skills days? Applications will be considered for those who are career firefighters, POC, or volunteer members.

Participants arrive on the 7th in the evening for team building and icebreakers, followed by three days of camp.

what to expect
Camp Details
Camp Ignite is a three-night, three-day camp that educates and inspires young women to follow their dreams. We aim to show our campers a future of limitless opportunities and demonstrate that anything is possible.
The camp is open to girls currently in grade 12 or entering grade 12 in 2025, who are currently living in British Columbia. Our camp offers an introduction to the exciting world of firefighting, along with fitness, nutrition, health and teamwork.
We are a not-for-profit society and strive to keep the camp affordable and accessible to those interested.
Activities
We offer our campers the chance to explore the many aspects and specialties associated with firefighting.
They will have an opportunity to learn about the various tools and skills needed to be successful in the fire service including auto-extrication, hazmat operations, and technical rope rescue operations!
Team Building
Camp Ignite places a huge emphasis on team building through fun team activities. Participants will practice communication, coordination, and execution of tasks in a fun and creative way.
Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment that utilizes the unique strengths of each individual.

Camp Ignite’s curriculum is tailored to show young women the possibility of a career in the trades and other non-traditional roles.
Our four-day, three-night camp will take place at a variety of locations throughout Metro Vancouver Fire Departments as well as many local fitness locales such as climbing walls, hiking trails such as the Grouse Grind, Crossfit and more.

A large part of what makes Camp Ignite successful is the mentorship offered by fire service women from throughout the province. We have a large group of women who donate their time and energy to guide and support the participants.
We work with fire crews in the lower mainland who offer active members, facilities and apparatus to support and give campers a true sense of what life in the fire service is all about.
